The walnut log pictured here was a limb sawn from a claro walnut tree planted in Sacramento California in the late 1880’s and was harvested in 1994 due to failing health. This extraordinary claro walnut tree will live again in the form of handcrafted furniture as well as masterfully crafted musical instruments, collectible gunstocks and high-end accessories. We derive a great deal of satisfaction by having the opportunity to save these trees for posterity. Not so many years ago large walnut trees would have likely ended up as firewood or simply been buried and left to rot. All of the wood we offer for sale as been air dried to a moisture content of 8% to 10%.
